First Certificate (FCE)
The First Certificate in English is a worldwide recognised language examination. Its level of difficulty is comparable with the TOEFL examination. Whereas the validity of the test results of the TOEFL expires after 2 years, the First Certificate in English has a lifelong validity. The First Certificate in English compares to a TOEFL ibt of between 57 (B1) to 120 (C1).
Cambridge Advanced (CAE)
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE), also known as the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), is an international English language examination developed by Cambridge English Language Assessment. It is targeted at Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and can be used for study, work and immigration purposes.
The IELTS is an international standardised test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment, and was established in 1989. IELTS is one of the major English-language tests in the world.
The Certificate of Proficiency in English or CPE (as it is usually referred to) is the most advanced general English exam provided by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. In the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CPE is ranked at the C2 level. Like all the other Cambridge exams, once the candidate has passed the exam this qualification never expires. It is considered to be very valuable for professional purposes, since a large number of companies and employers use it as an indicator of the would-be employee's English skills.
